The 30 Septemberโ17 October itinerary offers the best balance: four nights in Brunei followed by twelve nights in the Philippines.
Why consider this itinerary?
This is not necessarily the cheapest or fastest way to reach Manila. Its value comes from turning the connection into a proper visit to Brunei rather than spending several hours inside an airport.
Three or four nights provide time to see Bandar Seri Begawanโs mosques, Kampong Ayer, local markets and possibly take a rainforest or mangrove excursion. The longer Philippines stay can then be divided between Manila and another destination such as Palawan, Cebu, Bohol or Boracay.
Royal Brunei is a dry airline, so alcoholic drinks are not served onboard. Some of the cheapest fares are also non-refundable or carry high change fees.
Hotels in Brunei and the Philippines
Well-reviewed three-star and four-star accommodation in Brunei can start from approximately ยฃ50 per room per night. Bandar Seri Begawan city centre is convenient for sightseeing, while Gadong and Kiulap offer restaurants, shops and a more local atmosphere.
Manila has a much larger hotel market, with selected well-reviewed four-star and five-star properties starting from around ยฃ55 per room per night. Makati is the best all-round area for most first-time visitors, while Bonifacio Global City offers newer hotels and a more modern environment.
A practical arrangement would be:
Four nights in Brunei + two or three nights in Manila + the remaining nights on another Philippine island.
