Fiji Guide:
Fiji is an island nation in the South Pacific. The country is made up of over 300 islands, of which 110 are inhabited. The two main Fijian Islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, account for 87% of the population of almost 850,000. The majority of Fiji’s islands were formed through volcanic activity. There is still some geothermal activity today on the islands of Vanua Levu and Tavenui.
Viti Levu hosts the capital city of Suva, and is home to nearly three quarters of the population. Other important towns include Nadi (the location of the international airport), and Lautoka (the location of a large sugar mill and a sea-port).
The Fijian culture is a relaxed, easy-going and friendly culture however it is still important to respect their customs.
The Fiji Islands are a popular holiday destination – offering everything you need for a warm, sunny, relaxing island getaway experience.
