Sign Up Before May 29th: Your Chance for Free Flights to Hong Kong from Cathay Pacific!

Hkg

Hong Kong is back open, and the country is preparing to give away free airline tickets in hopes of luring travelers back. Heads up, Austrakia.-based travelers: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Your chance to score free roundtrip flights to Hong Kong (HKG) is coming soon.

Cathay Pacific said on Monday that it will select travelers who are members of their frequent flyer program (which is free to join) to receive an email on May 29th with a code in order to claim a free roundtrip flight. These free tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of one free ticket per member, according to an email sent to Cathay Pacific members.

The Hong Kong Airport Authority will cover the cost of 500,000 tickets distributed for travel to Hong Kong. The government has earmarked HK2B for this (roughly $255M).

The tickets for most are unlikely free, as you may have to buy two to get one free, participate in all kinds of giveaways, and sign up for respective frequent flier programs. The HK government estimates that every free ticket received will bring, on average, two other passengers with them.

It is unclear how many tickets each airline is assigned and how they are distributed.

Suggests to sign up to Cathay Pacific to get notifications of how to join the “World of Winners” tickets giveaway launching soon. https://flights.cathaypacific.com/en_HK/offers/world-of-winners.html
