Drastic Cuts to Priority Pass Lounges at Bangkok Airport Starting April 2025

Starting April 1, 2025, frequent travelers passing through Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport will notice a major change: a significant reduction in the number of lounges accessible via Priority Pass. Several premium airline lounges will no longer be available to members of the popular lounge program, marking a notable shift in the airportโ€™s lounge landscape.

Among the lounges being removed from the Priority Pass network are:

  • Air France-KLM Sky Lounge (International Concourse F)

  • Bangkok Airways Boutique Lounge (Domestic Concourse A)

  • Blue Ribbon Club Lounges (Domestic Concourse A & International Concourse D)

  • Oman Air First & Business Class Lounge (International Concourse E)

  • Thai Royal Silk Lounge (Domestic Concourse A)

  • Turkish Airlines Lounge (International Concourse E)

With these closures, Priority Pass members will largely be limited to independent lounges at Bangkok Airport, such as those operated by Coral and Miracle. While these lounges still offer comfort and refreshments, they often lack the exclusive amenities and ambiance of airline-operated lounges.

Behind this sweeping change is a new policy introduced by the Airports of Thailand (AOT), which restricts airline-affiliated lounges from offering access through third-party membership programs like Priority Pass. The move appears to be part of a broader strategy to steer passengers toward independent lounges โ€” potentially due to business agreements or profit-sharing models with the operators.

For travelers who have come to rely on the variety and quality of lounges included with Priority Pass, this is a significant downgrade. To maintain access to premium lounges, travelers may now need to fly in business or first class, hold elite frequent flyer status, or consider alternative lounge memberships tailored to specific airlines.

What This Means for Travelers

If Bangkok is a regular stop on your travel itinerary, itโ€™s more important than ever to plan ahead. Check current lounge access options before you fly, and explore alternative benefits offered by credit cards or airline loyalty programs. The upcoming changes may be a setback for Priority Pass users, but with the right planning, a relaxing airport experience is still within reach.
