Booking platforms reliability

Greetings. I am new to WTC (Signed up for Platinum), and rather excited about the business class deals I have viewed. I would like some reassurance however, regarding the booking platforms offering the deals. To date, I have always booked my flights direct with airlines and avoided third party booking platforms. I would love to hear members opinions and personal experiences please. Thank you in advance.

Hello Noeline, we always suggest to book at the airline direct.  But you could save some $$€€ if you book at third party booking platform.  There are several OTA which offers very good fares and services.  If everything went smooth and you don't have to change your bookings it is fine with an OTA. But some OTA have a weird customer service.  (Don't use Opodo, Booking, Flybyone)

OTAs, especially smaller ones, often skimp on customer support. This can range from outsourced and minimally-staffed call centers to exorbitant fees if you need to change or cancel your ticket. Of course, this lack of support is part of how OTAs offer lower fares to begin with.
Some OTAs charge extra fees for services like flight changes, cancellations, seat selection, and baggage allowance, potentially increasing the overall cost of your trip.
OTAs often have restrictions on ticket changes or cancellations, whereas airlines may offer more flexible options for direct bookings.
OTAs are popular among price-conscious travelers and bargain hunters. They let people search for travel within a set budget, and weigh their options in one place—comparing different options side by side.
Luckily I had never any Issue with a third party booking site / OTA.

Maybe it is better to book direct at the airline, because if there are some problems you can deal direct with the airline.

Hi, also a reliability/legitimacy remark here. When searching for tickets using the worldtravelerclub engine 'TheTravelMakers.us' pops up as an OTA. They offer almost surreal prices, so I've investigated a bit and their operations seem highly suspicious, reading all reviews their modus operandi seems to be to lure you in with surreal fares only to call you after booking to have you pay more because of unavailability of earlier booked fares. They T&C's are also ambiguous, basically leaving you with no leg to stand on. Is there a place to where we can leave suggestions for removing OTA's who operate like that in the engine so we can all be safe(r) booking tickets?

What is the name of the OTA?
